Houston Public Libraries 2025

The Islamic Arts Society recently partnered with Houston Public Libraries to bring the beauty and heritage of Islamic art to smaller community branches through a series of engaging programs. We conducted calligraphy demonstrations and henna art demonstrations, offering participants a hands-on experience and an opportunity to learn about the cultural and spiritual significance behind these art forms.

The programs were held at HPL Tuttle Neighborhood Library, HPL Carnegie Neighborhood Library, HPL Freed Montrose Neighborhood Library, and the HPL Ring Neighborhood Library during June and July. 2025.

These events allowed us to connect with diverse local audiences, many of whom were experiencing Islamic art for the first time. By reaching out to these smaller communities, the Islamic Arts Society continues its mission of building bridges, fostering understanding, and inspiring appreciation for the universal language of art.
